Youth basketball league starting up


For the first time, Basketball B.C. and NBA star Steve Nash are sponsoring a Sea to Sky Youth Community Basketball League in the corridor, running from Nov. 2 to April 3. Teams from Whistler to D’Arcy will be included in the league, with an emphasis on fun and skills development.

The league is open to boys and girls in Grades 6 to 12.

To explain the league, the organizers are hosting a parent information meeting on Monday, Sept. 30, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Millennium Place. Agenda items include registration information, scheduling, and the program outline.

Fall basketball looking for teams

Got game? If so, the Whistler Parks and Recreation Basketball League is looking for a few teams to round out the league this season. The league is in its 11th year, and teams play once a week, starting on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
