Whistler snowfall in excess of 30 cm possible by Thursday



The Sea to Sky is about to get walloped by another winter storm.

An approaching Pacific frontal system will bring a messy winter mix to the corridor through Thursday afternoon.

According to Environment Canada, snow near Whistler will become heavy at times on Wednesday night before changing to rain on Thursday afternoon.

Snowfall in excess of 30 centimetres is possible in Whistler by Thursday afternoon.

Near Squamish, wet snow is expected to change to heavy rain overnight, with local snowfall accumulations of up to 15 cm.

Along the Sea to Sky Highway, snow will become heavy tonight with "significant accumulations," according to Environment Canada.
