Whistler woman arrested for sexually assaulting roommate, police say

Suspect, 33, allegedly groped and 'tackled' roommate

A Whistler woman is facing charges after she allegedly groped her roommate and physically assaulted her, police said.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on Feb. 24, Whistler RCMP received a call from a woman who said her housemate had entered her room, “jumped on top of her while she was in bed, grabbed her groin area and was holding onto her, yelling incoherently,” noted Whistler RCMP R. Const. Steve LeClair.

The woman pushed the suspect off of her and began running for a nearby bathroom. At this point, the suspect reportedly tackled her roommate and shoved her into a pair of glass doors. The victim, frightened, ran outside and locked herself in her car until police arrived.

The 33-year-old suspect was later arrested on charges of assault and sexual assault and taken to the health clinic for a mental health evaluation. A search incidental to arrest also uncovered a baggie containing suspected MDMA along with a small amount of marijuana, police said. The suspect was later released with a future court date on condition not to attend her residence, LeClair said.
