Whistler tops in Freeskier

The latest resort rankings by Freeskier Magazine puts Whistler-Blackcomb on a pretty grand pedestal – not only is Whistler number one, it leads the rest of the resorts by a long margin.

"Whistler was the consensus number one pick of our editors," said Patrick Crawford, Freeskier’s managing editor. "The all-mountain skiing, terrain park and nightlife all deserve the hype they get, and no resort in North America can match the energy and progression at Whistler. It’s the best resort on the continent for freeskiers."

Tremblant, Quebec, was the only other Canadian resort to get a mention in the top 15 list.

1. Whistler-Blackcomb

2. Jackson Hole, Wyoming

3. Mammoth Mountain, California

4. Squaw Valley, California

5. Vail, Colorado

6. Alta/Snowbird, Utah

7. Breckenridge, Colorado

8. Aspen, Colorado

9. Park City, Utah

10. Tremblant, Quebec

11. Copper, Colorado

12. Kirkwood, California

13. Taos, New Mexico

14. Killington, Vermont

15. Mount Snow, Vermont

In addition to the top 15 editor’s picks in Freeskier’s resort guide, the December issue will include a reader ranking of resorts in five categories, including all-mountain terrain, nightlife, and terrain parks and pipes.
