Three new signatures have been added in permanent gold marker to gymnastics equipment in Whistler.
Caleigh Lamont, Hannah Peatfield and Gabby Flynn were crowned B.C.'s gymnastics champions in Prince George at the provincials from April 5 to 7. As provincial champs the trio were allowed to put their name on their apparatus in their home gym.
Caleigh's signature is on the vault following her level two win. She was also named the all-around champion in her level.
Hannah's signature is on the beam while Gabby was named level three vault champion so she also added her signature to the vault.
In addition to her top showing on the vault, Caleigh placed second on the bars, third on beam and eighth on the floor.
Hannah placed fourth on the bars and 10th on floor to earn the overall silver medal in her group.
Gabby also picked up an overall silver medal with a third place on the bars, 10th on the beam and third on the floor.
The Whistler club's competitive program manager, Karen Jarratt, said the results were a happy surprise.
"All the girls that placed really well, consistently placed well throughout the year," said Jarratt during a training session at the Whistler Athletes' Centre on April 8.
Jarratt added that a ceremony was held on April 10 as the three girls who were named provincial champs got to sign their piece of equipment.
"We make a ceremony out of it, it is quite an accomplishment," said Jarrat.
Nine Whistler gymnasts participated in the provincial event. Katie Faerge, Hailey Jackson, Gigi Kranjc, Cassia Jean, Leah Brownlie and Caitlin MacConnachie also competed in the provincial event at Prince George while Jen Lafreniere qualified but was not able to go on the trip.
