Whistler has been named one of the best vacation values in North America and the Caribbean by the weekly newsmagazine U.S. News & World Report.
In a survey of 223 travel agents from the United States, Whistler was rated second to Cozumel, Mexico in the Best Vacation Value category.
The results were published in a June edition of the magazine and online in the article, "Posh, not pricey."
The magazine reports that these survey results reflect the current travel mood in the United States.
Said Keith Waldron, of the luxury travel agency, Virtuoso: "Value is especially important in a fragile economic recovery.
"Even affluent vacationers are much more conscious of this.
" Above all, people are looking for financial value."
Jill Greenwood, director of Brand Marketing for Tourism Whistler, said the ranking supports Whistlers position as a resort which offers excellent value without compromising on service, standards or quality.
"Posh, not pricey sums up the Whistler experience of high-end amenities alongside our natural mountain setting all at a great price, especially for our U.S. guests," she said.
