The Whistler Arts Council (WAC) has received two donations to support performance in the resort.

The first, $11,070 from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation, will go towards the purchase of a new curtain and lighting for Millennium Place Theatre as part of the foundation's Presentation Technology Fund.

The second, $5,000 from Telus, will go towards the 2013-2014 Performance Series.

WAC's executive director, Doti Niedermayer, said the donation would improve the quality of programming the arts council could offer due to  improved technical equipment.
