The Whistler Gravity Series is a collection of mountain bike events created to let the less experienced riders get a taste of different kinds of competition, while giving the hardcore riders an opportunity to find out just who the best all around riders are.
For this series of six events to be successful however, volunteers are needed to help out with course work, timing, registration, first aid and other areas of the competition.
To grease the wheels a little, the Gravity Series is offering a volunteer package that includes a free bike park pass, providing you show up to three of the events, food, and downhill cycling jerseys.
The event is also close to announcing a major sponsor, which organizer Paul Fournier hopes will help to increase the size of the prize purse to over $2,000.
"It will be nice to have that going to keep people coming back for every contest, really get the competition going," says Fournier.
To volunteer for the Gravity Series, or become a sponsor of the event, contact Fournier at 604-932-6300.
