Calling all two-year-olds Up to one-third of children under the age of two in the Sea to Sky Corridor are inadequately vaccinated and that has local Public Health Nurses worried. The level of vaccination in the area is significantly lower than the provincial average. Representatives of the Coast Garibaldi Health Unit are asking parents to check the vaccination records of their children in order to determine whether all of the shots are up to date. Officials say the main reason for the low vaccination level is children missing their 18-month shot. The recommended vaccines are available free of charge at local health units and can protect kids form serious diseases like whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and meningitis. For more information call the local office of the Coast Garibaldi Health Unit.
