Travelocity's marketing character took a trip to Banff, Alberta last weekend, following the results of the travel company's latest competition.
When the polls closed on Jan. 20, Banff had garnered 69 per cent of the votes, whereas Whistler had 31 per cent.
Shawna Lang, sales manager for Tourism Whistler, thanked all Whistler residents and visitor who voted in the competition.
"We enjoyed it, and it was a fun and friendly competition," said Lang. "We like to think the only way Banff won is because Sea to Sky residents were too busy enjoying the great snow."
The story behind the competition was Travelocity's marketing character, the Roaming Gnome, deciding whether he should visit Whistler or Banff. He made a decision last week based on the number of votes that each ski destination received between Jan. 12 and Jan. 20.
