Tourism Whistler announces marketing appointments


Tourism Whistler has announced two promotions and two new appointments in the Marketing Services Department.

"The new team will play an enhanced role in driving marketing results for the Resort and to," said Barrett Fisher, President of Tourism Whistler. "We are delighted at the caliber of candidates we were able to attract and to promote from within."

Effective July 31st, Ian Dunn, formerly Tourism Whistler's Manager of Research, has taken on the role of Director of Marketing Services. Reporting to Arlene Schieven, VP Marketing, when she returns from maternity leave in September. This expanded role will oversee both the Marketing Services and Research departments, as well as organizational strategy development. Holding a bachelor's degree from the University of Victoria and a degree in tourism marketing management, Dunn has been with the organization for two years. Before that, he was the Strategic Alliances Account Manager with Whistler Blackcomb.

Tourism Whistler also announced two new appointments. Replacing Amanda Daly for a maternity leave, Hettie Schipperheijn has joined the organization as Production Manager. In this role she will oversee the production of all traditional (offline) and web-based (online) marketing tools, including collateral, advertising, websites, CRM and email marketing.

Dana Kroenert will join the marketing team on September 6th in the role of Senior Coordinator, Marketing Services. Dana will assist with design agency project coordination, scheduling of collateral material for production and media planning.

Tourism Whistler also announced that Anne Buch, Advertising Accounts Manager, will expand her responsibilities to oversee the development of strategic advertising planning not only for Tourism Whistler, but for, the Whistler Golf Club, Golf Whistler, the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre and Whistler's festivals and events.
