Vivien Bowers, author of "In the Path of an Avalanche", will give a reading from her book at the Myrtle Philip Community Centre Millar Room on Wed. Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. The book describes a devastating avalanche in Kokanee Provincial Park in 1998, which took the lives a six backcountry skiers. Bowers will read at the Pemberton Public Library on Thurs. Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
NATURALISTS SPEAKER SERIES>>
Johannes Koch, a Ph. D student at SFU, will speak at MY Place on Wed. Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. The topic is "Written Ice Ten Thousand Years of Glacier History in Garibaldi Provincial Park." Koch research looks at the effects of climate change on the environment in that park. Admission is by donation.

ONE MAN STAR WARS TRILOGY>>
One man show Charles Ross plays all the characters, recreates the effects, sings the music, flies the ships and fights both sides of the battles in his unique retelling of the Star Wars Trilogy. It was a hit at the Vancouver Fringe Festival and its sure to be a hit again in Whistler. The show takes place at MY Place on Sat. Jan. 24. Tix are $20, students and seniors $17.
