Eight new movie screens to tempt you in Whistler at the former AlpenRock, next to Mongolie Grill. 8 Mile is starting this week along with Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, the Wild Thornberry’s, and Gangs of New York among others. Check out the ad on page 52 for more details.

ADRENALINE MOVIES>>

Take the journey of a lifetime on Thursday’s at Millennium Place with the K2FILM Adrenaline Adventure Movies. The three movies are 118 Days in the Captivity if Ice, Mysterious Mamberamo and Mustang. The night starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at Millennium Place – $9.99 for adults, $5 for children and for all three films it’s $16. All the proceeds go to local charity Zero Ceiling.

WHISTLER FISHERIES STEWARDSHIP GROUP>>

WFSG is a non-profit charitable organization whose purpose is to restore the health of Whistler’s watersheds to their utmost potential for people and fish through community partnerships, advocacy, education and projects. WAG is a no-kill animal shelter dedicated to protecting and enhancing the lives of lost, unwanted and homeless animals. We are open to the public and for volunteer dog walking every day of the year from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Please call 604-905-7750 or stop by the shelter located between day skier parking lots 3 & 4.

Now open at Maurice Young Millennium Place. Activities include ping pong, pool table, Playstation, Nintendo, Internet access, big screen projection TV, day and overnight trips and tons of other activities. Needed are donations of videos, games, Playstation and Nintendo games and any other "cool" stuff. For hours of operation call 935-8410.
