The Alta Lake School is hosting a day of lecture and workshops for parents, teachers and anyone with an interest in working with children on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The guest speaker at the event is Rainbow Rosenbloom, who has a Waldorf teaching certification. BIZARRE BAZAAR>>

Whistler’s original craft fair Bizarre Bazaar is on Sat. Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Delta Whistler Resort. Seventy artisans from Whistler, the Sea to Sky Corridor and Lower Mainland will be on hand with fine hand-crafted products. Admission by donation.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS GALA>>

The Association of Whistler Realtors present their annual fundraising event at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler on Saturday Nov. 30. The 11 th Annual Festival of Lights Gala is a formal affair with big band entertainment, an auction, prizes and plenty of fun. Tickets are $95 per person, available from any Whistler real estate office.

BEST OF BANFF FILM FESTIVAL>>

About 16 screen offerings screened over two nights will make up the Banff Film Festival in Whistler from small budget to big budget, for all outdoor enthusiasts. Tickets for the show are on sale at Escape Route for $14 in advance or $15 at the door. For both nights there’s a reduced rate of $25. Myrtle Philip doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The show starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1.

WHISLTER WRITERS GROUP>>

This fall’s second literary leaning event will be held at Behind the Grind Cafe on Sunday Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. Local writers will read from recent works and the floor is open to anyone with a story, poem, or burning idea.

WHISTLER FILM FESTIVAL>>

The second annual film festival showcases films in the categories of adventure, culture, and mountains. It also features a dynamic series of digital filmmaking workshops, filmmaker panels and appearances and an exhibit of mountain culture photography. The events run at the Rainbow Theatre or at MY Place on Dec. 5-8.
