HOWE SOUND HARMONY FESTIVAL
In downtown Squamish in the Pavilion area, a free festival from the Howe Sound Performing Arts Association takes place on Saturday, July 20. Featured acts include a charicature artist, a chalk artist, the placement of stepping stones in the Unity Community Gardens, and musical entertainment. From 1-4 p.m., music includes the Bruce Henczel Ensemble performing with keys and percussion, Juan de Marlas on flamenco guitar, Christine Miles on flute and Brad Sherry on mandolin.
ESCAPE ROUTE FUNDRAISER
A fundraiser in memory of one of Canadas foremost mountaineers Jim Haberl will be held at Escape Route on Thursday July 25 at 7 p.m. Haberl died in an avalanche in Alaska in 1999. This event will raise money for a memorial hut in the Tantalus Range. There will be drinks by donation as well as a silent auction.
2 nd ANNUAL WILD WEST JAMBOREE
The Pemberton Stables is hosting the second annual Wild West Jamboree from July 26-28. There will be entertainment, Beer Gardens, a 4-H show, a Broomball tournie on horseback and a Barn Dance on Sat. night, among many other things. Adult Day Pass is $5. Family Day Pass is $10.
WAY TOO BLONDE
A 45-minute comedy sketch cabaret looking at roles of women in the media. New scenes, new cast line up. The show begins at 7 p.m. at Millennium Place. Cocktail hour follows. $32 includes two glasses of wine. $26 for show and hors doeuvres. Call 604-935-8418.
THE BIG BANK THEORY
Sea to Sky entertainment has postponed the shooting of the Big Bank Theory, a locally produced feature film. Instead of shooting it in three to four pasts over the summer/fall, it is now scheduled to shoot in one continuous flow from Sept. 3 to Sept. 15. BEAR SMART PRESENTATIONS

On Wednesday, July 17 Simon Jackson, the founder and director of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition will talk about the plight of the spirit bear, Canadas rarest bear.
