WHISTLER IT’S OUR FUTURE

THE BIG BANK THEORY

Sea to Sky entertainment has postponed the shooting of the Big Bank Theory, a locally produced feature film. Instead of shooting it in three to four pasts over the summer/fall, it is now scheduled to shoot in one continuous flow from Sept. 3 to Sept. 15. BEAR SMART PRESENTATIONS

Presentations will focus on various aspects of bear biology & ecology, bear behaviour, living with bears in your backyard, and safety in bear country. Every Wednesday night 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Millennium Place. Admission by donation. For more info, contact J.J. Whistler Bear Society at 604-905-4209.

On Wednesday, July 17 Simon Jackson, the founder and director of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition will talk about the plight of the spirit bear, Canada’s rarest bear.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LUNCHEON

A commemorative lunch at the Garibaldi Lift Company with the 2001 Citizen of the Year on Wednesday, July 17 at 11:45 a.m. The Chamber will announce the 2002 Citizen of the Year. RSVP to the Chamber in advance.

BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT GROUP

SUMMER READING CLUB

The Whistler Public Library is launching its summer reading program for children ages 3 to 9 called Booked for the Summer. Special programs for children will be held on Wednesdays in July and August. Sessions for 5 to 9 year olds will be held from 4-5 p.m. or 7-8 p.m. There will also be a session from 11 a.m. to noon for preschoolers aged 3 to 4. Pre-registration is important. Fill out a form at the Whistler Public Library.
