CREATIVE DISCOVERY OPEN HOUSE

The Creative Discovery Open House will have fun for the entire family with face-painting, story-time, a clown, raffle prizes and demonstration classes for music and art. The open house runs from 10 a.m.-noon at Millennium Place, May 4. Phone 604-938-4833 to help out or participate in one of the demonstration classes.

24-HOUR RELAY GARAGE SALE

The community-wide garage sale, May 4, 10 a.m. at Base II, Blackcomb. All the proceeds go to Easter Seal Camp Squamish, for children with disabilities. Call 604-938-7394 for details.

The Pemberton Women’s Institute will be holding its annual spring sale May 4, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pemberton Legion. Garden plants, home baking, seed potatoes and white elephants.

ANNUAL FUND RAISER DINNER AND SILENT AUCTION

The annual dance takes place at the Chateau Whistler May 4, 5-8:30 p.m.

WAKING BEARS

Whistler Bearlife Slide Series features local black bear researcher Michael Allen Tuesday, May 7, 7 p.m. at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Topics include shaking off hibernation, why bear cubs are so small, and Allen’s cougar project. $10 admission. Proceeds support the winter 2002-03 Sleeping Bear Program.

WHISTLER INTERNATIONAL WINE FESTIVAL.

The 12 th annual festival takes place Thursday, May 9, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Proceeds go to the Whistler Public Library.

MAY FAIR!

The Alta Lake School is hosting the second annual May Fair on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the base of Blackcomb. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of children’s crafts, may pole dancing, storytelling, puppet shows, food and fun. Rain or shine.
