VALENTINE SUNDAY BRUNCH. Hearts and Heritage is the theme for this Sunday brunch at the Westin. Guests will see sights of weddings past and not so far past at this event, which is a fund-raiser for the Whistler Museum and Archives. Brunch will be served at 11 a.m. Feb. 17. Cost is $47, which includes a $20 donation to the museum’s operating funds.

SUN SALUTE-ATHON . Mind-Body Fitness and the Fairmont Chateau Whistler present the second annual Whistler Sun Salute-Athon Feb. 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Chateau. Proceeds to Whistler’s Food Bank, Crisis Line, KidSport, Re-Use-It Centre and other programs run by Whistler Community Services Society. A Sun Salute is a series of moves co-ordinated with the breath that is used as the initial warm-up in most forms of yoga. Call 604-905-4777 for details.

VAGINA MONOLOGUES. The Second Shift troupe present selected scenes from Eve Ensler’s award-winning play March 1 at Maurice Young Millennium Place. Sold out but there is a weight list at MY Place.


WHISTLER COUNCIL MEETING. Council chooses a consulting team to prepare the Comprehensive Sustainability plan, at municipal hall Feb. 18, at 7 p.m.

JANINE BENYUS, SUSTAINABILITY SPEAKER. Biomimicry — Lessons from Nature is the subject of Benyus’ presentation, the fourth in the sustainability series. At Maurice Young Millennium Place, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.
