FESTIVAL OF CANADIAN ARTS . Three evenings of festival performances will take place at the Eagle Eye Community Theatre in Squamish, Nov. 23-25. Included among the performers are Marie Carlson West of Whistler and singer Ali Milner.

BIZARRE BAZAAR . The annual showcase of local arts, crafts and goods takes place Nov. 24, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., at the Whistler Conference Centre. Great Christmas shopping.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS . The Association of Whistler Realtors’ annual gala dinner, dance and auction, raising funds for local charities. Nov. 24 at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

TRADING SECRETS . A journey into the lives, culture, environmental and spiritual practices of the aboriginal peoples around the world. At Millennium Place Nov. 30, 6:30 p.m. Tickets $9 adults, $6 children.

DOING WELL BY DOING GOOD . Ray Anderson, founder and chairman of Interface Carpets Inc., is the next speaker in the Leadership Through Sustainable Innovation series, part of the Natural Step program. Anderson will be speaking at the Whistler Conference Centre, Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m.

DAVE SARKANY SLIDE PRESENTATION. The Outdoor Adventure Leadership Program is hosting a slide presentation/silent auction evening Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Pemberton Secondary School. Dave Sarkany, will be showing slides of the Coast Range. Refreshments included in the $5 cover charge. Come out and support this fund-raiser and get a start on your Christmas shopping! Tickets available from the Pemberton Trading Post or at the door.

EXTREMELY CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING . Coming to Pemberton Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m., it’s Season’s Beatings. A Battle Royale, a grudge match, a young lions match, and the always popular women’s match are some of the highlights. The National Wrestling Association event, at the Pemberton Community Centre, is a fund-raiser for the Pemberton Youth Centre.

COMMUNITY BENEFIT CONCERT . Sunday, Dec. 9 at 2:15 p.m. at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. All donations, collected at the door, go to the Whistler Food Bank.


BRANDYWINE CREEK HYDRO PROPOSAL. A public open house on the run-of-river hydro generation proposal will be held in council chambers at municipal hall Nov. 23, 4-6 p.m.

MATURE ACTION COMMITTEE. Annual general meeting is Monday, Nov. 26, 7:30 p.m. at Maurice Young Millennium Place, in the upper lobby. Whistler Mayor Hugh O’Reilly will be the key-note speaker. MAC’s objective is to build a seniors’ residence in Whistler. Everyone interested is welcome.

WHISTLER COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL. Invites you to our Annual General Meeting, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, 7:30 p.m., MY Place Upper Lobby, 4335 Blackcomb Way. The meeting agenda will include: review of the year and presentation of the council’s strategic plan.
