MOTHER’S DAY PANCAKE BREAKFAST. The Whistler Lions Club is presenting its annual Mother’s Day breakfast Sunday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the IGA in Marketplace. All proceeds will go to Camp Squamish.

ART SHOW AT CENTENNIAL CAFÉ. Photographs, drawings and paintings by Wim Tewinkel will be shown at Pemberton’s Centennial Café May 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A special art brunch will be offered.

PUSHING THE LIMITS SLIDE SHOW. The local chapter of the Alpine Club of Canada and the Whistler Guides Bureau are presenting Chic Scott, who recently published Pushing the Limits — The Story of Canadian Mountaineering. May 12, 7:30 p.m. at the Coast Whistler Hotel. Tickets are $5, available from Escape Route and at the door.

THE ART OF THE HUICHOL INDIANS. The Whistler Public Library is hosting a video presentation by Isabel Jordan at the Myrtle Philip Community Centre May 15, 7:30 p.m. A display of art work by the Huichol Indians of Mexico will also be available. The Huichol are highly creative people and reflect their strong ceremonial traditions and rich mythology in the visionary artwork called yarn painting. Admission by donation. GERANIUM AND SPRING FLOWER SALE. The 10 th annual fund-raiser for the Whistler Children’s Centre takes place May 18 and 19 at the Whistler Children’s Centre. Cedar hanging baskets will also be on sale. Order forms available at of April 27. Call 932-1119 for information.

WHISTLER GARDEN GROUP PLANT SWAP & SALE. May 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 6814 Beaver Lane. Open to members and friends. Please bring priced items such as plant divisions, pots, garden decorations and any garden-related items.

Mr. Ferdinand Vondruska will be coming to Whistler to speak on Waldorf Education – an education for the whole child – Tuesday, May 15, 7:30 p.m. in the Horstman Room at Myrtle Philip school.

OPEN HOUSE ON LIQUOR LICENCE CAPACITY INCREASES. Six licensed establishments in Whistler are applying to increase their interior licensed capacity and/or not have their patio capacity deducted from their interior capacity. A public meeting to discuss the applications will be held in council chambers at municipal hall May 16, 5-7 p.m.
