OLYMPIC FIRESIDE CHAT. Charles Parkinson, the executive director of sport for the 2010 Bid and a former athlete at the World University and Pan American Games, is the featured speaker for this second fireside chat. March 27, 7 p.m. at the Whistler Mountain Ski Club cabin.

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP. Whistler Community Services Society is hosting two workshops on April 1, at Myrtle Philip School, in the Alex Philip Lounge, for all non-profit volunteer groups in Whistler. From 10 a.m. to noon is a Volunteer Management Workshop on Volunteer Recognition; from 12:30-2 p.m. Lou Hilford from B.C. Charitable Gaming Association will explain how groups can access funds. To attend one or both workshops you MUST RSVP before Monday, March 26,to WCSS at 932-0113. Please state your organization and the number of people attending. HELPING HANDS

AMBASSADORS NEEDED. The ninth annual Sierra Wireless, Air Canada Whistler Cup is an international juvenile ski race that attracts more than 300 skiers from 20 countries. Organizers are looking for volunteers as ambassadors April 4-9 to meet and greet the racers at the hotel, tour the village, accreditation office and attend the coaches meeting if required. Both English and multi-lingual ambassadors are needed. Call the Whistler Mountain Ski Club at 932-4644 to volunteer.
