In the summer of 2014, researchers from Acadia University and Cascade Environmental Resources Group collected samples of sediment from the lake bottom to better understand how the lake and its watershed have reacted to both natural and human-made change. On Dec. 4, the Whistler Museum hosts an evening of geological and human history as researcher Drew Dunnington discusses his findings. The night will also include a people's history of Alta Lake presented by museum executive director Sarah Drewery. Cash bar.
