Former Delta Whistler Resort general manager Hank Stackhouse is now senior vice-president, operations for all of Delta Hotels and based in Toronto.

Stackhouse left Whistler several years ago to run the Delta Brunswick in St. John, New Brunswick. He’s now responsible for operations of the 31 Delta hotels in Canada. Delta also has one hotel in the United States and operates some non-Delta properties, including the Tantalus Lodge in Whistler.

Among the hotels under Stackhouse’s authority is the Delta Sun Peaks Resort, a 230-room hotel and conference facility which will open at Sun Peaks this Christmas. The new $40 million Delta will be the largest hotel at Sun Peaks.

Delta Hotels was started in Richmond, B.C. in the 1960s but head offices are now located in Toronto. Delta was purchased by Canadian Pacific Hotels and Resorts Inc. in 1998 but the Delta brand continues to operate separately.

Last January Delta was named the 12 th best company to work for in Canada by the Globe and Mail ’s Report on Business.
