What: GIANT USED BOOK SALE Thousands of fiction and non-fiction books are for sale for adults and children at this annual book sale. Books are sold by donation with all proceeds going towards Friends of the Public Library. For more information call (604) 894-6707.

Where: In front of IGA in Marketplace

 

What: WHISTLER SOLAR DAYS The Resort Municipality of Whistler presents BC Solar Days, an afternoon of activities on May 29. Watch kids race solar cars, learn about solar hot water by touring the installation at the Meadow Park Sports Centre and enjoy fun giveaways like t-shirts, magnets, green pens and sunflower seeds.

When: Saturday May 29, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

What: MAY FAIR The Whistler Waldorf School hosts May Fair, an annual event in this sunny month with crafts, music, May Pole Dancing, a puppet show, storytelling, a costume tent as well as food and a wishing pond. For more information call Katherine Fawcett at (604) 966-8888.

When: Saturday May 29, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Where: Whistler Waldorf School, next to Spruce Grove Field House

 

What: FAMILY DINNER NIGHT The Whistler Community Services Society and the Resort Municipality of Whistler present a family dinner night, a chance to support Hunger Awareness Day by providing a dinner by donation or for a non-perishable food item. All proceeds go to the Society's food bank.

When: Tuesday June 1, 5:30 p.m.

Where: Spruce Grove Field House

 

What: ENVIROFEST The Resort Municipality of Whistler and the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation present Enviro-Fest, an annual event aimed at showcasing environmentally friendly choices offered within the Whistler community. Call (604) 935-0772 to book your space by May 14.

When: Saturday June 5, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where: Various locations throughout the Village

 

What: GIANT PLANT SALE The Friends of the Library present the annual Giant Plant Sale, asking Whistler gardeners to contribute healthy perennials, vegetables and small shrubs to make the sale a success. It sells out every year, so please donate plants by talking to Christy Auer at (604) 932-4062.

When: Saturday June 12, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Where: Marketplace Parking Lot
