What: MEET GLOBI! The House of Switzerland 2010, located at the Mountain Club, is hosting a visit by Globi, the country's very own answer to Mickey Mouse! He'll read stories from his first English book and all children receive a surprise treat. There will be two separate readings throughout the day.

When: Thursday February 11, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Where: The Mountain Club, Whistler Town Plaza

 

What: PEMBERTON WINTERFEST ARTISAN SHOW The first of several Pemberton Winterfest events that will happen during the Olympics, this will showcase the best that Spud Valley artists have to offer. Other activities to come include an opening celebration, youth video dance and dinner theatre throughout the Games.

When: Friday February 12, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

What: 2010 OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES OPENING CEREMONIES Believe it or not, they're finally here, and they're playing live throughout Whistler as they happen. Whistler Live! will be broadcasting the ceremonies on screens throughout Whistler Village so be sure to stroll on by and watch them happening.

When: Friday February 12, 6 p.m.

What: COMMUNITY PANCAKE BREAKFAST - CELEBRATE FIRST NATIONS AND SPORT Start your day with a hearty pancake breakfast and celebrate the start of the 2010 Winter Games. You'll explore First Nations culture and rub shoulders with athletes and guests can make uniquely Canadian souvenirs.

When: Saturday February 13, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Where: Whistler Public Library

 

What: MEN'S ALPINE DOWNHILL Whistler Live! will be broadcasting the men's downhill racing event on its network of screens throughout Whistler Village. It's a medal event so be sure to watch it if you don't have tickets to the event at Whistler Creekside. It's Manny's race! Cheer him on!

When: Saturday February 13, 11:45 a.m.

What: COMMUNITY PANCAKE BREAKFAST - CELEBRATE SUSTAINABILITY AND CULTURE Enjoy pancakes, sustainability and local entertainment. Learn the importance of sustainability through arts, crafts and more. Bobs and Lolo will get the kids dancing and singing about protecting the Earth.

When: Saturday February 20, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

What: HELLY HANSEN'S NEXT TOP MODEL Helly Hansen in Whistler is seeking the person with the oldest, coolest Helly Vintage suit. Wear it into the store, get your photo taken and enter to win a new Helly Hansen suit of your choice on the company dime! Winner to be presented at a fashion show later this month.
