What: BREAKFAST WITH THE CHAMBER The Whistler Chamber of Commerce is hosting a breakfast for its members to help them learn what the Chamber is doing for them and how they can help your business save money! Members only, RSVP required, but it's free of charge for them.

What: SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR Myrtle Philip Communiy School presents a scholastic book fair, with proceeds going to the library at the school and supporting literacy. This happens on the second day of a two-day event. Come see what great tales are in store at this fair and help support literacy within the Corridor at the same time!

What: LEADERSHIP SEA TO SKY COHORT VI BREAKFAST KICK OFF WITH DR. HUGH FISHER Leadership Sea to Sky presents a breakfast with Dr. Hugh Fisher, an Olympian kayaker, coach and mentor to many youths throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor through Dragonboat teams. What: AWARE COOL CRAFTS CLUB The Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment presents its kids' crafts club, where kids aged six to 12 are invited to create posters about their favourite things in Whistler's wilderness! Posters to be posted publicly and it's free.

When: Saturday September 26, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

What: MACLAUNCH BBQ The Pemberton Valley Trails Association presents a Pemberton Trails and Paraglide Launch event at the MacKenzie Basin paragliding launch. This will help introduce Pemberton's vast trail network and paragliding launches. Come by foot, horse or bike and get free BBQ and refreshment!

What: FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS SEMINAR The Whistler Real Estate Company, CIBC, Race and Company and Don Barr Consulting present a first-time home buyer seminar, where you can find out from experts about how to purchase your first home today. There are plenty of options and historic low mortgage rates.

What: CITIZENS ON PATROL INFORMATION MEETING Vandals are on the lam in Pemberton and the RCMP can't be everywhere at once. The Village of Pemberton and the RCMP thus need the community's help to act as eyes and ears within the community. 15 participants minimum needed for project to proceed.

When: Thursday October 8, 7 p.m.

Where: New Pemberton Community Centre

 

What: GIANT USED BOOK SALE Donations are now being sought for the Giant Used Book Sale, which welcomes all manner of book, whether fiction, non-fiction, adult, children's, soft and hardcover. Donation boxes are located at Nesters Market, Canada Trust, Whistler Public Library and Spring Creek Community School. Call Jane at (604) 932-3665.

Where: In front of IGA Marketplace

 

What: DIAMOND AND PEARLS GALA Sea to Sky Community Services Society presents the second annual Diamond and Pearls Gala, after last year's event celebrated the Society's 30th anniversary. There'll be a full course meal and appetizers, ticket includes dancing, silent auction, door prizes and complimentary wine. Tickets $100, tables of eight are $700.

When: Saturday October 17, 5:30 p.m. - 1 a.m.
