What: WHISTLER READS: THE RELUCTANT FUNDAMENTALIST Whistler Reads presents a dissection of Mohsin Hamid's "The Reluctant Fundamentalist." Guest discussant Graham Fuller, a consultant on Muslim World affairs and history professor at SFU, will join the conversation.

What: BOBSLEIGH CANADIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS Self-explanatory. Whistler's new favourite sport can take a maximum of 1,000 spectators at the sliding centre. Cost is $5 cash admission at the door. Go to for more details.

What: KING OF THE RAIL A series of rail jam contests running on select Saturday nights. This time out - slopestyle. Separate categories for snowboarders and skiers, male and female, adult and youth. Draw prizes from Showcase, Glacier Shop and others. Entry fee $15.

What: PARK RIDER SESSIONS TELUS presents slopestyle, rail jams and halfpipe on both mountains using the best terrain available. Pre-registration is $25, price on event day is $30.

What: CINEMA POLITICA: OCCUPATION 101 LUNA presents the Cinema Politica series. This week's screening: "Occupation 101," a documentary about the root causes of the Israel/Palestine conflict. Admission by donation.
