What: FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT If you’re 13 years old or younger you can grab a Scavenger Hunt Worksheet Ballot at various locations throughout the village and solve the mystery clues in order to win some fabulous prizes! For more information about this event, which is a lead up to the Children’s Art Festival in July, contact the Whistler Arts Council at 604-938-9221 or check out Pique’s entertainment section this week!

What: SPECIAL OLYMPICS EVENT Join in a fun-filled sports events with the Special Olympics and compete in bocce, ringette (floor hockey) and soccer. All welcome to attend including any potential volunteers. For information call 604-932-5843.

Where: Signal Hill Elementary, Pemberton

What: Teddy Bear Picnic Story telling, a teddy bear dance, crafts and a magic show – with silks, rings, ropes and disappearing objects – are all part of this year’s Teddy Bear Picnic. Hosted by Whistler Parks and Recreation, the picnic goes rain or shine. Free event for kids 6 years old and younger with a parent and of course, your teddy bear.

What: Aboriginal Day Story Time The Whistler Public Library invites children to a special Aboriginal Day Storytime, followed by craft activity. Pre- registration required for participation in craft activties. Call 604-932-5564.

What: COMMUTER CHALLENGE/LUNA BIKE SKILlS SHOW Pro BMX riders will show off their skills at the skate park as part of the Commuter Challenge.

What: CANADA DAY PARADE The annual Canada Day Parade takes place in Whistler Village, starting at 2 p.m. from the Day Lots on Blackcomb Way and ending at Town Plaza Gazebo where there will be cake, awards and music.
