Re-Use-It Centre birthday party Saturday

What: RE-USE-IT CENTRE B-DAY PARTY The Re-Use-It Centre is turning eight years old and staff is inviting everyone to join them for birthday cake, coffe, hot dogs and popcorn. The silent auction ends at noon.

What: SPECIAL OLYMPICS OPEN HOUSE Any interested athletes, coaches and volunteers can learn more about the new chapter of the Special Olympics at the two-hour open house. There will be a presentation at 4:15 p.m. followed by refreshments.

What: BEAUTY AND TRANSFORMATION Photographer and world traveller Brian Harris will present a multi-media journey through India. Tickets are $13. Call 604-935-8410.

What: Easter at the library Spring is on the way and the Whistler Public Library is inviting children to a special Easter Storytime, followed by a craft activity. Pre-registration is required for participation in the craft activity. Call the library at 604-932-5564.

What: balding for dollars Are you brave enough to see what’s under your hair? There will be some willing to shave it all off to raise money in support of children with cancer. Collect pledges and then head to the GLC. Show support by coming along and catch The Hairfarmers while you’re at it.

What: The Celestine prophecy Raise money for a good cause at the last screening of The Celestine Prophecy at 6 p.m. A screening of The Indigo Evolution will follow. Tickets for each movie are $12 and can be bought in advance at The Oracle. The money goes towards the Whistler Youth Centre. Call 604-905-0084.

What: Three tenors All welcome to hear music for Easter and songs for spring with three BC tenors in Whistler – Philip Grant, Ken Lavigne and Frederik Robert. Tickets are $5/$15.

What: Words and Stories ‘A Half-Century of Mountain Storytelling’ represents this year’s Words & Stories. The 2006 presenters include Jeff Holden, Ivan E. Coyote, Ace McKay Smith, Jim McConkey and Stephen Vogler. Tickets are $10. Call 604-935-8410.

What: RETIREMENT PARTY FOR LIBRARIAN JOAN RICHOZ After 20 years as Whistler’s Library Director Joan Richoz is retiring. Join in as the community commemorates her time at the library. Tickets are $10 at the library or Roger’s Chocolates
