‘Riding Giants’, a documentary surf film by the director of skateboarding classic ‘Dogtown and Z-Boys’ is next in line in the Whistler Film Festival’s Reel Alternatives’ monthly film series. The movie will be screened at Rainbow on Wed. Nov. 10 with 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. shows. Get tickets at Nesters and at the theatre from 6 p.m. on the day of the screening.

Local ecologist Bob Brett presents his study of more than 500 Whistler-area trees. Called ‘Whistler’s Old Trees: A Story of Fires, Floods, Pathology and Patience," the event takes place at MY Place on Wed. Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $5/$7 (children under 12 free.)
