RE-USE-IT CENTRE SALE>>
Its a two for one clothing sale at Whistlers Re-Use-It Centre in Function Junction on Sat. Oct. 16. The centre is also holding a silent auction throughout October on more than 30 items hanging on the walls with "Not For Sale" signs. All proceeds go to the Whistler Community Services Society.
PEMBERTON OUTDOOR SURVIVAL SKILLS FOR CONSERVATION>>
The Pemberton Wildlife Association is hosting a one-day event showcasing outdoor survival techniques through the use of GPS and mapping, and talks on the importance of wetland conservation on Sun. Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pemberton Community Centre. Its an event for all those interested in fish, wildlife, birds, water quality, and general environmental health. Geared towards youth, but all ages and interested folk invited!

Festival Express is coming to the Rainbow Theatre on Wed. Oct. 20 as part of the Whistler Film Festivals Reel Alternatives fall film series. The film features never before seen footage of Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead and The Band. Shows at 7 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $9 and available in advance at Nesters and at Rainbow from 6 p.m. on the day of the screening.
English humour paired with harmony thats Cantabile. Theyve played Carnegie Hall and now theyre coming to MY Place on Thurs. The annual low-key locals run in Pemberton will take place on Sat. Oct. 23. Its 12 kms of technical single-track but you can walk it, hike it or run it. Run starts at 10 a.m. Register between 9 and 9:30 a.m. at One Mile lake. Cost is $15. The money raised goes to support the Pemberton Spud Valley
