The Whistler Astronomy Club is hosting a star gazing series on Saturdays throughout September. Meet at Rainbow Park at 8 p.m. on Sept. 18. Intro to naked eye astronomy; binocular stargazing, and telescopic observation of deep sky objects.
FAMILY TREES OF WHISTLER BLACK BEARS>>
After a decade spent researching Whistlers black bears, local bear researcher Michael Allen will share his vast knowledge and experience at a multimedia event on Fri. Sept. 17 at MY Place from 7 to 9 p.m. F eatures include initial results of bear hair DNA analysis and a discussion on patterns of inter-relatedness between black bear families in the Whistler valley.
