What: NiX: THEATRE OF SNOW AND ICE Vancouver impresario Kendra Fanconi puts on Canada's first theatre of snow and ice in Lost Lake Park. The show follows two survivors of an apocalypse and an arsonist. For tickets visit the website www.theonlyanimal.com/theatre/nix.

What: 7-ELEVEN FIRE AND ICE SHOW Come to the base of Whistler Village Gondola and witness some of Whistler's best daredevils as they literally jump through fire to impress you. There's also fire spinners and fireworks. Afterwards come by the GLC's Afterburn party.

What: WINTER FARMERS MARKET The weekly farmers' market is still happening during the Olympics. This is the best way for you to get a taste of the bounty that the Sea to Sky region's soil has to offer. There's fresh bread, local produce, custom-made jewellery and much, much more.

What: APRES WITH MATZO BALL SOUP Rabbi Chaim Shapiro presents Apres sessions for Shabbat during the Olympics. This one is a service and dinner with a hot bowl of Matzo Ball Soup. Eat with your fellow community members and Vancouver 2010 participants. Kadish needed on February 19.

What: A NIGHT WITH WHISTLER BLACK BEARS Whistler Bear Expert Michael Allen documents the life cycles of bears several months out of the year and now he's holding a fireside chat at the Whistler Museum to help educate people about our ursine neighbours during the Games. Tickets $65, includes wine and appetizers.
