As good as the deals and selection of gear can be, kids still hate to shop.
This year there will be a wide selection of activities for kids of all ages at the Whistler Mountain Ski Club ski swap and the Turkey Sale.
On Saturday, the base of Blackcomb Mountain will have a Kids Rootbeer garden with entertainment by juggler Mike Battie. There will be face painting, a visit from Rainbow the Clown, and a musical performance by the Austria Vancouver Club Melody Choir, which is in Whistler as part of Oktoberfest celebrations.
For older kids, there will be a graffiti art demonstration by a local artist. The completed product will be featured in the Blackcomb Terrain Park this winter.
To top it all off, Whistler-Blackcomb is trucking in snow from the skating rink and pockets of the alpine to create an intermediate and up snow skate area at the base of Blackcomb.
