Ski challenge supports Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities

Companies interested in providing employees with a team-building opportunity, or groups of individuals looking for an activity-filled two-day ski and snowboard event, are invited to take part in the 15 th Annual Telus Mobility Ski Challenge, April 5-6 on Blackcomb in support of Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities.

Teams of skiers and boarders will take part in events, including ski and snowboard races, skiing with celebrities, a reception and an awards dinner.

World Cup race winner Felix Belcyk and double Olympic Medalist Karen Percy-Lowe will be the official co-hosts of the event.

The challenge is open to skiers and boarders from novice to expert. Corporate teams of four compete in a fun slalom race and have a full day of skiing, alongside ski celebrities including Belcyk, Percy-Lowe, Rob Boyd, and Steve Podborski.

WSSF goes to the doggie

Organizers of Whistler’s TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival are gearing up for DogFest, a two-day celebration of Whistler’s love affair with dogs, on April 24-25.

Dogfest will be a part of the second weekend festivities during the WSSF and guests are invited to join in with the exhibitions and demonstrations where two and four-legged friends compete together.

The highlight of DogFest is the Dog Parade on April 24, where up to 200 canines of all imaginable breeds, and their equally diverse owners, take over the streets of Whistler in an afternoon stroll in support of Whistler Animals Galore (WAG).

Now in its seventh year, the Dog Parade invites everyone to participate in the stroll through Whistler Village in support of a good cause.

A dynamic display of canine skills and ability as well as a showcase of speciality dog products follows the Dog Parade in Skier Plaza.

For more information on this year’s Dog Fest, visit or just head to Whistler Village on April 24-25 to get involved.
