Whistler's Brandon Semenuk came up short of first place in Monday's Red Bull Rampage finals in Virgin, Utah, but his third place finish was good enough to lock down first overall in the 2014 Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) Diamond Series standings.
It's Semenuk's third FMB World Tour championship in four years.
He finished Monday's Rampage in third place after his second run netted him a score of 89.25.
Semenuk's podium finish at this year's Rampage comes on the heels of back-to-back disappointing years at the event.
To earn himself third place, Semenuk took a slopestyle-inspired line punctuated by a big cliff drop, an opposite 360 and a backflip-one-foot-can.
The USA's Cam Zink came second with an 89.50, while Spain's Andreu Lacondeguy finished first with a dominating 95.25.
Semenuk's fellow Canadians Brett Rheeder of Toronto (fifth), Kyle Norbraten of Prince George (sixth) and Mitch Chubey of Vancouver (10th) also finished in the top 10.
Other Canadians in the 20-man field were Geoff Gulevich of North Vancouver (17th) and Tom Van Steenbergen of Kelowna (19th).
In the overall FMB Diamond Series standings the podium was all Canadian, as Semenuk took first place with 4,300 points, Rheeder took second with 3,808 points and Anthony Messere of Vancouver took third with 3,240 points.
While this year's Red Bull Rampage finals were originally scheduled for Sunday, some inclement weather forced a one-day delay. The course was in top shape for riders by Monday morning.
Lacondeguy, coming off of three straight fourth-place finishes at the event, electrified the judges on his one and only run.
"I'm pumped. I've been coming here for the last four years now, and I've been fourth every year. I knew that I needed that extra little bit of riding to be on the top," Lacondeguy told redbull.com after the event.
Zink was awarded best trick for his 360 off a near 15-metre drop, and Semenuk was voted People's Choice Winner by fans watching online.
