Quest Lecture: Virtual Power, Digital Citizenship

When: Wed., Jan. 14, 7 p.m. 2015

The latest Quest University Lecture Series event is Virtual power, digital citizenship: Reflections on espionage, surveillance, privacy and politics in cyberspace with professor Doug Munroe. In cyberspace, the lines between espionage and war blur; Orwellian surveillance and revolutionary mobilization are equally possible, and data itself is a commodity. What does power look like in this strange landscape, and who wields it? This talk aims to cut through the techno-babble to explore the deeper question of how we exist in cyberspace.
