RE-USE-IT CENTRE. Open daily, noon-5 p.m. at the recycling depot in Function Junction. New or used items that are clean, in good shape and working order will be accepted.

WHISTLER BOTTLE DEPOT. Open Friday-Monday, noon-4 p.m. at the recycling depot on Nesters Road, next to municipal works yard . Most drinkable containers are now on the deposit-refund system, except for milk products and meal replacements. Commercial loads accepted by appointment. Call 932-3733.

WHISTLER MUSEUM.

Current displays are Whistler Then and Now; A look at events and historical trivia from Whistler’s incorporation in 1975 to the year 2000, including excerpts from Pique’s own Whistler — History in the Making book. Open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. For information, research requests or tour bookings call 932-2019. Located at 4329 Main Street (next to the library in Village North).

WHISTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY.

The library’s hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Closed Wednesdays. Located at 4329 Main Street, Village North.

FOOD BANK. The Whistler Community Services Society’s food bank is open the first and third Monday of each month. Food bank distribution hours are between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The food bank is located behind Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, at the bottom of Lorimer Road. Donations are always welcome. For more urgent food bank requirements call 932-0113.

COMMUNITY INTERNET CAFE. At Whistler Secondary Community School , Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays 6:30-9:30 p.m. Best e-mail and Internet rates in town: $3 per 30 min. per person, to maximum of $9.

BIG BROTHERS, BIG SISTERS. Are you a single parent? Could your child use another positive influence in their life? Someone they could befriend and spend some quality time with? Big Brothers/Sisters of Whistler/Pemberton is looking for children to be paired up with caring, fun-loving, and responsible volunteers for 2-4 hours a week. EMPLOYMENT CENTRE. The Whistler Chamber of Commerce Employment Centre, located at the corner of Highway 99 and Lake Placid Road, is open Monday through Friday (except statutory holidays) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..
