Ken Eriksen is the founder of MOOTs Cycles, a company in Steamboat Springs, Colorado that made the first bike frame designed specifically for mountain biking in the 1970s. That company is still famous for its lightweight, durable frames.

He was also the first bike builder to be entered into the Mountain Biking Hall of Fame in Crested Butte.

As well, Eriksen is a strong rider who was fourth in the first NORBA race.
