If your minor league motivational and inspirational talks are largely based on the "lolligag" speech from Bull Durham, then you could probably benefit from the Minor Baseball Coaches Clinic, 9 a.m. on April 28 at Myrtle Philip school.
The clinic, which is being run by Baseball B.C., is free for all coaches and assistant coaches. For more information, call Chris Leighton at 932-3748. Minor Baseball starts the week of April 30.
T-Ball starts on May 2, and runs every Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. The cost is $30 to register, and spots are open for both boys and girls of 5 to 6 years as of Dec. 31, 2001.
The Farm league starts May 1, and will play every Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m.. The cost is $45, and spots are open for both boys and girls aged 7 and 8 as of Dec. 31, 2001.
Boys Minor baseball begins April 30, and runs every Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Its $45 to register and spots are open to players aged 9 and 10 as of Dec. 31, 2001.
Boys Major baseball starts April 30 at 5 p.m. Spots are open for players who will be between 11 and 12 years old as of July 31, 2001.
A start date for Senior boys baseball, for players between 13 and 15 years old on July. 31, 2001, still has to be announced.
The softball league for girls aged 9 to 12 as of Dec. 31, 2001, starts May 1, and will run every Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Start dates for Girls Peewee softball (ages 13 and 14), and Bantam softball (ages 15 and 16) have not been announced.
All division play is at Myrtle Philip fields, with a few exceptions: girls softball 13 and up plays at Meadow Park and in Squamish, and majors and seniors also play in Squamish. Unless otherwise noted, the cost of each league is $45.
