Stan Hagen, the minister of sustainable resource development, has postponed his visit to Whistler until sometime in February.
The visit was to include an open house on the status of the Sea to Sky Land and Resource Management Plan, and a meeting with local government representatives. Hagen was scheduled to be in Whistler on Monday, Jan. 21.
The Sea to Sky LRMP was announced by former Premier Ujjal Dosanjh over a year ago and is being fast-tracked towards completion in fall of 2002. The plan will attempt to balance resource and recreational interests, including tourism, within the Squamish Forest District, which runs from Greater Vancouver to an area north of Pemberton.
