Two of Whistler’s mayoral candidates — incumbent Ken Melamed and challenger Kristi Wells — are going head-to-head in a debate Monday, Nov. 10.
The affair is being painted as a “fun, townhall-style debate with a good dose of Whistler culture,” according to organizer Nick Davies, who is working on Melamed’s campaign.
Melamed’s campaign team formerly invited Wells to the get-together on Tuesday, Nov. 4. While details are still being ironed out, the debate will probably be held between 3 and 5 p.m. in the Rainbow Theatre at the Telus Conference Centre.
Melamed and Wells will split the event’s cost.
If other mayor candidates want to participate, said Davies, they will also have to help foot the bill.
Details will be posted when they are available on MayorMelamed.com, WellsForMayor.com, VoteWhistler.com, as well as Pique Newsmagazine ’s website.
