Lo and behold, LIVE at Squamish returns for a third year. It will run from Friday, Aug. 24 to Sunday, Aug. 26.
Paul Runnals, senior vice president of brand.LIVE, which produces the festival, confirmed the date on Friday after the company posted the dates via their Twitter feed. He told Pique they were trying to hold off on a formal announcement due to "a couple major announcements" they'll roll out in the next couple of weeks.
"We were going to try to keep it under one cap but it certainly doesn't bother us," he said. "(The dates have) been out there since before Christmas and there's people that we're working with are well aware of the dates."
Runnals is keeping mum about these "major announcements" for now but says they will "shed even more light on what's coming."
The next updates will not include the artist line-up. The company is "right in the middle" of securing live acts for the festival, said Runnals.
"We have some that are done (and) and we have others that we're working on," he said. "But we're very pleased where this is going."
There will be no major changes to the format from the 2011 festival. The festival organizers are working with the District of Squamish to secure more on-site camping for attendees, as well as flushing out the programming on the Friday night.
