The woman found dead in a submerged vehicle in Lillooet Lake on April 20 has been identified as 32-year-old Cindy Lassu of Spruce Grove, Alberta.
RCMP have confirmed that a second person was driving the vehicle when it went off the forestry service road. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed.
Lassu was last seen alive at St. Agnes Wells hot springs, accompanied by her brother. According to witnesses, the two were arguing.
Cpl. Paul Vadik would not speculate on what charges the driver may be facing, other than to say they were pending the delivery of the traffic analyst’s report.
“I don’t want to release any details that could compromise the investigation,” said Cpl. Vadik
The Suburu Legacy was discovered after a logger seeing suspicious skid marks on the road notified police.
