Good turnout at King of the Rain

The fourth and final King of the Rail jam of the season took place in heavy rain on Saturday night, but a little bad weather didn't stop 47 skiers and riders from coming out to session three lines at the base of Whistler Mountain — or for 200 to 300 spectators from showing up to watch the action.

The athletes judged the event themselves, with the prize purse for each category going to the skier or rider with the most votes at the end of the 90 minute jam. All participants were eligible for draw prizes donated by sponsors.

Jordan Innes won the Ski Male 17 and Over category and $80.

In Snowboard Male 17 and Over the top rider was Nathan Therriault earning $100.

Elmo Saikkonen was first in Ski Male 16 and Under to win $15.

Amanda Webster won Ski Female 17 and Over and $15.

Nozuki Chieko was first in Snowboard Female 17 and Over at $15.

Quinn Dubois was first in Snowboard Male 16 and Under to win $15.

Votes for King and Queen of the Rail went to Dominic Marneau Grenier and Amanda Webster. Bastien Stauffer-Cart won the Nintendo Wii, Bauston Camilleri the Atomic skis and Dylan Layzell the Burton snowboard.
