The Whistler Art Walking Tour is a great way to see local galleries and public art pieces. Self-guided brochures are available at MY (Millennium) Place or online at The Whistler Farmers Market is also a big part of the summer art scene. Check out a broad selection of works by local artists and artisans every Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. rain or shine.

What : The Gallery Chateau Whistler

Where: Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort, Blackcomb Village

Contemporary Canadian paintings, ceramics, glass, bronze and stone sculpture and other authentic handcrafted items. Beginning Aug. 14, a special exhibit of Canadian Rockies landscapes by Banff-based painter Elizabeth M. Wiltzen. Artist in attendance at exhibit reception.

What : The Adele Campbell Fine Art Gallery

Where : Whistler Visitor’s Centre, Village Stroll

Long-time Whistler gallery featuring renowned Canadian artists. Beginning Aug. 28: Creative Stages – an exhibit by Vancouver painter Cameron Bird featuring drawings, sketches and finished works. Artist reception Saturday, Aug. 28, 6-8 p.m. Silent auction with proceeds to the Whistler Bear Society. Bird will give a talk on his work at 4 p.m. Ph: 604-938-0887.
