The Whistler Resort Association has further defined Barrett Fisher’s new duties. Fisher was promoted to vice-president of marketing for the WRA last week. She had been director of marketing since 1993. In her new position Fisher will be responsible for advertising and promotion, media relations, research, festivals and events, and member communications. As well, she will oversee resort sales and conference sales in an acting capacity. The WRA is continuing its search for a new president to replace David Thomson. Craig MacKenzie is the acting president. Fisher has been with the WRA for eight years. Her first position with the resort association was director of advertising and promotion. Prior to joining the WRA she was managing editor of the North Shore News. She holds a B.A. in English, a Diploma in Journalism and a Diploma in Marketing.
