Party Beats resident house music mixmaster
My five favourite tracks right now:
1. Lovin' You Poker Pets
"This track was introduced to me by two good friends from New Zealand. They asked me to play it and I developed an instant love for it. Such a happy, hands-in-the-air summer tune and it's been rocking the dance floor for some weeks now."
2. 1799 The new originals
"An awesome track that was given to me in April by Mark Oliver at the Telus Festival. It's a dirty remix of the Smashing Pumpkins hit 1979, which funnily enough, is my year of birth. Every time I play it the crowd goes crazy."
3. Little L Jamiroquai
"Somewhat of a signature track as I started out with the DJ name of 'Little Al'. I grew out of the name but the track stayed strong and I still play it a lot. It always seems to fill a dance floor and is a huge hit amongst the Australians of Whistler."
4. Soulshaker Beatchuggers
"This track has such a funky bassline it surprises everyone when it kicks in. One of those tracks that forces you to move. When I play I enjoy interacting with the crowd and this one gives me that energy to dance with everyone out there. Nothing better than making eye contact with someone on the dance floor who is all smiles because of the track you're playing!"
5. Killing In The Name Rage Against The Machine (dance remix)
"Now this one is something! Quite an old track for me but it's perfect for the Whistler crowd. It was a huge gamble playing it for the first time but I'm glad I did as everyone went insane, especially after the huge buildup which drops into the pure filthy guitar riff from the original song."
Last words .
"There's nothing better than a happy crowd and the reactions I've been getting here have re-enforced the reasons I DJ. I must take this opportunity to thank every person standing there at the end of my set with their hands in the air. You are all great! Thanks to everyone for making Party Beats happen for me."
