Deepak Chopra will be seducing Whistler with spirituality this summer.
The celebrity guru will be leading a retreat entitled Seduction of Spirit based on his seven spiritual laws of success at the Fairmount Chateau Whistler from July 30 th to Aug. 4 th .
“I am very excited to have Deepak Chopra come to Whistler. His visit falls in line with my intentions of creating Whistler as a fantastic wellness destination,” said Glen Iles from Whistler Wellness.
According to Chopra’s website, the retreat will show participants how to unfold the layers of their soul through meditation to finally experience peace, harmony, laughter, and love.
So far about 280 people have signed up for the event, and Iles predicts more will enroll as the summer continues.
“People from all over North America are registering,” said Iles who, with Laurin Kyle-Boyle from Whistler Wellness, approached Chopra last fall about teaching the workshop in Whistler.
“We have some locals, some people from the Lower Mainland, as well as people from across Canada and the U.S.,” he said.
Iles added that having people like Deepak Chopra come to the resort really increases North America’s awareness of the potentials of Whistler.
“We are bringing people from all over North America who otherwise would never come to Whistler or who have never even heard of Whistler. It’s really a great opportunity,” said Iles.
The acclaimed guru has been conducting workshops on spiritual and body-mind meditation across North America for over 10 years. However this is the first time he will teach this workshop in Canada.
Besides meditation and yoga practices, participants will get to dine on vegetarian Ayurvedic lunches, prepared from the Chopra Centre Cookbook, and enjoy evening entertainment.
Prices range from $1,475 to $2,175, depending on how close to the event participants enroll. Transportation and accommodation are not included.
Chopra will also be holding another session of this workshop in southern California in November.
