Whistler's mayor, Nancy Wilhelm-Morden, will join her counterparts across the province next week for the fifth BC Mayor's Caucus.

The meeting takes place in Cranbrook and Kimberley from April 23-25.

The first meeting of 86 mayors took place in 2012 when the elected officials gathered to discuss issues such as the downloading of services and other issues affecting B.C. communities.

Conferences keep Whistler busy

In her mayor's report to council on Tuesday, April 15, Wilhelm-Morden highlighted several conferences that have been in town recently.

More than 100 delegates from the Urban Land Institute conference in Vancouver came to Whistler for the day last week to learn about resort planning. Several resort leaders spoke to the delegates.

The BC Chapter of the Canadian Society of Association Executives conference then took place on April 11.

And this week, indigenous peoples from around the world are here for the International Aboriginal Tourism Conference, with 300 delegates from nine different countries.
